    Bug Fixes

    • Fixed a bug where configuration changes to Apex 7 and Apex Pro keyboards weren’t being saved on-board.
    • Fixed live preview being broken on some devices.
    • Fixed some Engine Apps showing an “Unsupported Device” dialog even when a supported device was plugged in.
    • Fixed not being able to toggle on/off some Engine Apps.

    New Feature

    • Added banners to device config pages when they are being controlled by ImageSync or Audio Visualizer.

    New Engine App: Spotify for OLED Displays

    Yep, it’s true: Spotify can now show what track is playing on your SteelSeries OLEDs.

    Go to the Apps and turn on Spotify, click the button to link your account to Engine, and your track info should appear on your device’s OLED!

    Improved OLED image editor

    • ‘Clear’ can now be undone with the Undo
    • You can reset the screen to its factory default
    • Smoother GIF import process
    • Show a pixel grid for easier drawing
    • Fixed pixels being skipped while dragging

    New Firmware

    Apex Pro, Apex Pro TKL, Apex 7, and Apex 7 TKL

    • Factory reset is now avaialble in the OLED menu
    • Selecting “None” as a reactive lighting effect on the OLED menu should no longer disable lighting
    • Fixed a crash when overloaded with too many different lighting effects
    • Setting AFK mode effects via the OLED menu are now previewed on the keyboard

    Bug Fixes

    Apex Pro, Apex Pro TKL, Apex 7, and Apex 7 TKL

    • Engine should now prevent the last profile on the keyboard from being unsafely deleted
    • Keys for non-US regions should now be fully functional after the first out-of-the-box firmware update
    • “Select same” tool should now work as intented while editing the AFK Effect
    • Fixed a case where macros weren’t triggering after swapping between profiles
    • Non-US region keyboards should now have the proper keys lit up for any Engine App controlling the lighting

    Other

    • Animated GIFs should now play properly while Engine apps that do not use the device’s screen are running
    • Colorshift effects should now play properly while Engine apps that do not use the device’s lighting are running
    • Prism Sync will now continue playing if Engine apps are running do not use any device’s lighting
    • Audio Visualizer’s options window will now open in the foreground, instead of hiding behind all your windows
    • Fixed weird timing on effect lighting for some mice, including Rival 310, Rival 600, & Rival 650 Wireless (thanks /u/PundaBoi)
    • Upgrading to Windows 10 19H1 update should no longer affect the lighting on MSI laptops
    • Fixed a crash when opening the device config page for the MLG Sensei
    • Fixed lighting timing and group settings for the cloth QcKs
    • “Dual color” effects in any GameSense app are now editable by users
    • Fixed a memory leak that some Mac users were seeing (Still seeing one? Let us know!)

    GameSense API changes

    • Added a new “partial-bitmap” lighting type for controlling full-keyboard lighting in a way that is compatible with sending events to specific zones
    • The minimum and maximum values for events can now be updated after initial event creation
    • Games that are removed using the remove_game API will disappear from the UI immediately
    • A new API has been added for sending multiple game events in a single request

    New Features for Apex Pro, Apex Pro TKL, Apex 7, and Apex 7 TKL

    Automatic onboard profile syncing

    Onboard profiles are now fully editable and synced up with Engine, instead of having to import and export them manually.

    You can still drag to move an Engine configuration to an onboard profile slot if you want to take it with you!

    Fully customizable lighting

    Lighting can now be fully edited and customized.

    • ColorShift w/ wave options, Gradient, Breathe, and single color are all available as options
    • Set up to 15 Base or Reactive effects at the same time
    • You can now configure the color and speed of your Reactive Effect

    AFK Effect lighting

    • Set any of the effects from Base Effect to start when you’re AFK
    • Configure your AFK timer to your liking

    More keyboard improvements

    • Improved the design of the actuation widget to make setting different levels more clear
    • Added support for Japanese, Korean, Russian, Thai, Turkish, and Taiwanese layouts
    • Custom OLED images, including animated GIFS, will now show on the device image inside Engine
    • You can now restore any customizable OLED screen to it’s factory default
    • Tidal events on the OLED now fit 3 lines of text, and more characters

    New Features

    • Added full support for AFK Effect
    • Fixed some sleep/wakeup issues that were keeping the keyboard stuck in sleep
    • Lock key icons can now be shown on the OLED when GIFs or GameSense data is on screen (if lock icons enabled in OLED menu)
    • Improved performance when sending GameSense LED colors
    • Recording and deleting macros with the OLED menu will now highlight the bound keys
    • Added a slight delay before entering macro recording mode to prevent accidental recording
    • Fixed keys being bound to mouse buttons not working
    • Fixed issue where software only profiles would be saved on-board if changes were made from OLED menu

    GameDAC

    • The overall volume has been increased slightly (don’t worry, we compensate for it when you update)

    Bug fixes

    • Fixed some MSI laptops having their track pad disabled when unplugging/replugging USB mice

    The all new Apex models are now supported in Engine! We’ve been using these keyboards around the office for months, and it’s official: we’re in love with them.

    Here’s what Engine offers for these new keyboards:

    • Per-key adjustable actuation level (Apex Pro & Pro TKL only)
    • Add images to your OLED screen, including animated GIFs
    • Base & reactive lighting effects via presets (full customization coming very soon)
    • Custom key bindings for every key
    • Importing and editing onboard profiles

    Hey everyone! New release for Engine. Really excited to share what some of the Mortal Kombat 11 devs put together with GameSense:

    Probably the most creative use of GameSense we’ve seen yet. The blood spray pattern shows up on the keyboard! Each fighter has their own lighting theme during character select! Scorpion’s spear shoots across your lighting! Crazy stuff – huge props to them!

    Go buy their game and jump in to see the insanity they’ve cooked up.

    • Fixed most cases of computers not being able to sleep when syncing settings
    • Automatic settings sync can be disabled for anyone still having issues
